(1a) Work is the ability of a body to perform a particular function. Work is sid to be done when the force applied on machine is capable to move the body through a distance.
Its measured in Joule or Nm.
Work done = Force x distance.

(1c) (i) Minimum effort =
mg sin tita F =70×10 sin tita 100
=700 x 2.5/4 100 =437.5 + 100 =537.5N (ii) V.R = 1/sin tita =1/2.5/4 =4/2.5 =1.6 (iii) M.A = L/e = 700/587.5 =1.30
(iv) E = MA/VR x 100%
= 1.30/1.6 x 100%
(v) Energy lost
= (100% – 81.25%) x 537.5×4
=18.75 x 2150 =40312.5J
(vi) Workoutput = Load
x Distance move by load =700×2.5 =1750J
(vii) Power = Workdone/Time
taken =Fxh/t =537.5×4/50 =43W

(3a) (i) Principle conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed but energy can be transformed from one form to another.
Mechanical energy –(Dynamic)– Electrical energy
(ii) A body of mass is suspende into a vertical oscillation with the aid of slight
displacement of the body. The original
position of the body of mass was
possessed by potential energy but immidiately the body oscillates. The
position of the body changed to kinatic
energy meaning that the body of mass
expected energy changes frm potential
energy into kinetic energy.
(3b) This happens when two different metals eg. Copper and Iron are joined at the end (Hot junction) is heated, while the other end (Cold junction) is kept constant in melting ice, an electric current flows along the metals.
The size of the current is measured by a sensitive galvanometer which is connected in serier with the hot and cold
juctions. This current is dependent on the
difference between the temperature of the
hot and cold juctions. The galvanometer is
usually calibrated to read the temperature
of the hot juction directly.
(3c) Q = ML =2×3.34×10^5
=6.68×10^5J

(4a) (i) Conductivity can be defined as the
reciprocal at resistivity. It is measured in
(m)^-1. Thus, 驴 = 1/e = 1/RA/L = L/RA
(ii) – Cross-sectional area
– Temperature
–Length of the wire
– Resistivity of the wire
(4b) (i) Draw; – Attraction – Repulsion
(ii) Its protected by using a lead coat which is opaque to every magnetic material. Lead coat is made by alloy of metals which discourages energy harmful substances

(5b)
(5c) (i) Ground state energy: Is the lowest energy of an atom and its the most
stable state. Its measured in Joule.
(ii)
Excitation energy: Is the energy required
to raise an atom of electron from one state
to any other allowed state. Its unstable in
nature.
E = E1 – E(nut). Its SI Unit is Joule
(iii) K.E = eVs =1.6×10^-19 x 40 x 10^3
=1.6×10^-19 x 4 x 10^4 =6.4×10^-19 4
=6.4×10^-15J.
